Nigeria and South Africa shared leads in the Mixed 4x400m final, and although the South African anchor tripped and fell just before the last bend, Nigeria’s Favour Onyah was already in the lead and brought home the baton in first place.
That gold medal in the Mixed 4x400m, brought Nigeria’s tally on Day 2 to three gold medals overall, adding to the ones won in the 100m in both the women’s U18 and U20 categories.
