South Africa’s team leader, John Mathane, has commended Nigeria for its hospitality, organization, and competitive spirit during the 3rd CAA U-18/U-20 African Junior Athletics Championships.
Mathane, who expressed delight with his team’s performance, had high praise for the host nation.
“It was a great event. Nigerians are hospitable and competitive,” he said.
“They gave us a real challenge, but we South Africans were determined to defend our title.”
This marks the third consecutive time South Africa has emerged as overall champions at the African Junior Championships, further cementing their dominance in continental athletics.
