Salifu Nurudeen, a Computer Science student at UDS Nyankpala, has been sentenced to death for murdering fellow student Wumpini Mohammed Zakiu.
The incident happened in September 2024 after a love triangle involving Nurudeen’s ex-girlfriend. Wumpini, who had started dating the girl, was found stabbed to death. His missing phone was later traced to Nurudeen’s room. Police found that Nurudeen sent texts from the phone to mislead others, including one to the victim’s girlfriend. He admitted sending the messages but denied the killing. He was arrested at Jubilee Park after police tracked him down.
The Tamale High Court found him guilty and sentenced him to death.
