Villarreal CF have confirmed the signing of Thomas Partey on a free transfer. The 32-year-old midfielder has agreed to a two-year contract with the Spanish club.
Partey faces five rape charges involving two women and one sexual assault charge against a third woman. He strongly denies all allegations, which date back to 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal. The charges were filed four days after his Arsenal contract expired in June. Villarreal says it respects the legal process and presumption of innocence. The club will not make further comments due to UK legal restrictions.
Villarreal also reaffirmed its commitment to respect, diversity, and opposition to all forms of violence.
