Togo Extends Health Cover to Survivors and Dependents

Togo’s National Institute of Health Insurance (INAM) has expanded Universal Health Insurance (AMU) coverage.

The new measure includes widows, widowers, orphans, and parents of civil and military pensioners. It follows a similar extension last month for National Social Security Fund (CNSS) beneficiaries. Eligible people include survivors’ pension recipients and dependents of active insured persons. The aim is to protect vulnerable groups with access to essential healthcare. Beneficiaries will receive AMU cards to access medical services.

INAM says the move addresses financial hardships faced after the loss of a breadwinner. Newly eligible individuals are urged to contact INAM to register.
