The Electoral Commission of Ghana has fixed September 30, 2025, for a by-election in the Tamale Central Constituency. The election follows the sudden death of the sitting MP, Murtala Muhammed Ibrahim.
In a statement, the EC said the vote complies with Article 112 (5) of the Constitution. Nomination forms are available on the EC’s website from August 19 to September 10. Completed forms must be submitted at the EC’s Tamale office from September 8–10.
Each candidate needs 20 supporting voters, including a proposer and seconder. Four copies of the forms, two red-background photos, and a filing fee are required. The filing fee is GH¢10,000, but GH¢7,500 for women and Persons with Disabilities.
