Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey has arrived in Florence for his Fiorentina medicals. The 24-year-old is set to join from Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent deal. Reports say Fiorentina will pay €6 million plus performance bonuses. Lamptey is expected to sign a four-year contract after completing his tests. He will provide competition for Brazilian wing-back Dodô in the squad.
Known for his speed and attacking play, Lamptey can feature on both flanks. His Brighton career was disrupted by injuries despite over 100 appearances. Lamptey is also in Ghana’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
