Ivory Coast Expands Rural Internet Access

Côte d’Ivoire’s new internet rollout program aims to close the digital gap between rural and urban communities. The initiative is designed to strengthen digital inclusion and bring more citizens into the online space.

Officials say it will also foster local economic development in areas that were previously cut off from reliable digital services. Communities are expected to benefit from new opportunities in entrepreneurship, trade, and innovation.

The program is further expected to improve access to online public services, including education, health, and administration. By connecting rural households, it will prepare more Ivorians to participate fully in the national digital economy.
