Nigeria’s Charles Godfred has promised to return stronger after his early elimination in the men’s long jump at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday.
The 21-year-old, making his debut on the global stage, bowed out of the qualification round with a best effort of 7.79m, which placed him 13th in Group A and outside the top 12 who advanced to the final.
