The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI-RDA) has called on the international community to pay attention to what it describes as serious abuses by the current government.
In a public statement, the party denounced what it called “grave misconducts” by those in power. It urged human rights organizations to intervene and observe the situation in the country. The statement was signed by Dr. Sylvestre Emmou, a senior party official. The PDCI also appealed to its members to remain united and watchful in the face of intimidation. It reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and democratic values.
According to the party, no threat or pressure will weaken its determination to act as a responsible opposition. The PDCI concluded by pledging to continue working for a Côte d’Ivoire of justice and prosperity.
