The Ministry of Health has addressed the viral disciplinary case involving Bernice Aboagye, a nurse accused of insulting Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh in a video. The Ghana Health Service issued her a query for using inappropriate and unprofessional language.
In a statement on Sunday, October 12, the Minister commended the Service for its swift response. However, he appealed for clemency, asking that justice be tempered with mercy. Akandoh emphasized that he welcomes criticism but cautioned against abusive language. He urged health workers to express concerns respectfully to promote professionalism.
The Ministry reaffirmed citizens’ right to protest but warned against indiscipline. It also reminded all health staff to be cautious in their social media conduct to protect the sector’s dignity.
