Côte d’Ivoire Prolongs Voter Card Distribution Deadline

The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) has extended voter card distribution across Côte d’Ivoire until Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 5 p.m. Originally scheduled to end on October 20, the extension applies to all polling stations nationwide.

The CEI stated that voters must present a national ID card, an enrollment receipt from ONECI, or a certificate of nationality. Exceptionally, old voter cards may also be used to collect new ones. This measure aims to give more citizens time to collect their cards before the elections.

The commission emphasized that the process is vital for a transparent and credible vote. It urged all citizens to act responsibly and participate peacefully in the exercise. The CEI reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring an orderly and inclusive electoral process.
