At the 7th Africa-Europe Summit in Luanda, President Faure Gnassingbé urged a deeper partnership between the two continents. He outlined three key priorities: global peace, renewed multilateralism, and a shared stability framework.
The Togolese leader reminded delegates that African nations hold primary responsibility for their own security. He warned that global instability makes peace a daily challenge rather than a guaranteed condition. Gnassingbé called for reforms to the international system to make it fairer and more representative. He proposed a joint EU-AU peace architecture to address modern threats such as terrorism and cybercrime.
The president highlighted the central role of African youth in sustaining long-term stability. The summit also advanced the €150 billion Global Gateway strategy, aiming to rebalance economic ties and boost sustainable development.
