Minister Wants Easier Travel for World Cup Fans

Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, says the 2026 World Cup hosts should ease strict travel requirements for fans. He explained that many ordinary supporters struggle to provide documents like property papers, marriage records and bank statements.

He argued that lacking these does not mean a fan should be denied the chance to attend the tournament. The USA, Mexico and Canada will host the expanded 48-team event from June 11, 2026. Honourable Adams concluded that countries that value recreation should not place heavy restrictions on sports lovers. He believes relaxed rules would allow more people to experience the World Cup.

Ghana will start their campaign against Panama on June 17. They will later face England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
