Mahama Receives Prestigious Yoruba Honour

President John Dramani Mahama has received a high-ranking Yoruba traditional title in Nigeria. The honour was conferred by the Ooni of Ife at a colourful ceremony in Ile-Ife.

He was installed as Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source. The title recognises leadership that promotes global cooperation and human progress. It was awarded in appreciation of Mahama’s advocacy for fairness and sustainable development. The ceremony followed days of traditional rites at the royal palace. Mahama has previously received similar honours from Yoruba kingdoms. The recognition is expected to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties between Ghana and Nigeria.
