Weija Plant Shutdown Affects Water Supply

Ghana Water Limited will shut down the Weija Water Treatment Plant on Friday, December 19. The shutdown will last from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for critical maintenance works. Water production and distribution from the plant will be suspended during this period. The exercise aims to ensure safe and reliable water supply, especially during Christmas. Many communities in Accra and surrounding areas will be affected.

GWL says water supply will resume immediately after the work is completed. Customers have been advised to store enough water ahead of time. The company has apologised for the inconvenience and asked for public cooperation.
