Ghana Seeks Justice in Latvia Case

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured the family of Nana Agyei Ahyia of government’s commitment to seek justice. He met the family at the Foreign Ministry to personally offer condolences. The Minister briefed them on actions taken so far regarding the student’s death in Latvia. A fact-finding mission was sent from Ghana’s embassy in Germany, which also covers Latvia. The team has submitted a preliminary report to the Ministry. Latvian authorities have confirmed that investigations are still ongoing.

Mr Ablakwa has informed Latvia of his plan to travel there to engage officials and investigators. The delegation will include family representatives and independent experts to ensure transparency.
