SSNIT Raises Pensions by 10%

SSNIT has announced a 10% increase in monthly pensions for 2026. All pensioners on the payroll as of December 31, 2025, will benefit from the adjustment.

The Trust says the increase is higher than the recent inflation rate, protecting pensioners’ purchasing power. SSNIT explained that the new rate was based on salary growth, projected inflation, and fund sustainability. The increase was approved in consultation with the National Pensions Regulatory Authority. The minimum monthly pension has been raised from GH¢300 to GH¢400 for new pensioners.

Existing pensioners on the minimum will now receive GH¢409.56 per month. SSNIT expects to pay over GH¢7 billion in pensions in 2026, with monthly payments exceeding GH¢580 million.
