UniPod-Togo Draws Regional Interest

Togo’s university innovation model is attracting attention beyond its borders. On January 20, 2026, Congo’s Minister of Scientific Research and Technological Innovation, Rigobert Maboundou, paid a working visit to Lomé.

The visit focused on UniPod-Togo, the university innovation and development hub at the University of Lomé. The centre was established in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Discussions covered governance, funding, and partnership structures supporting the project. The Congolese delegation aims to draw lessons for a future National Innovation Centre in Congo.

UniPod-Togo was inaugurated in February 2025 under the Timbuktoo Africa initiative. It provides laboratories, incubation spaces, and integrated support for students and entrepreneurs.
