Togo’s project to construct 21 modular bridges across the country is advancing steadily at several locations. On January 26, 2026, President of the Council Faure Gnassingbé visited the Kéran River bridge site in the Kara region.
The visit revealed that civil engineering works, including foundations and support structures, have been completed. Construction has now moved to the installation of the metal framework and completion of the superstructure. The bridge is a Unibridge-type steel and concrete structure measuring over 102 metres in length. Located on the Kantè–Nadoba axis, it is expected to improve movement between Kéran 1 and Kéran 3 municipalities.
The Kéran bridge alone is funded at 2.2 billion CFA francs. Authorities say the nationwide bridge programme will boost rural access, trade, and agricultural transport across Togo.
