Journalist Fatou Sylla of Fraternité Matin was crowned Super Ebony 2026, the highest honour in Ivorian journalism, during the annual Nuit de l’Excellence in Yamoussoukro. The award recognises outstanding professional rigour, high-quality reporting, and significant social impact. She received the distinction from the Minister of
Communication at a ceremony attended by media professionals and dignitaries. Her work was praised for strengthening quality information and contributing to democratic consolidation in Côte d’Ivoire. The president of the national journalists’ union thanked President Alassane Ouattara for his support of media development. Special tributes were also paid to the First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, for her ongoing support of the press.
The Ebony awards are a benchmark for journalistic excellence and highlight outstanding reporting across print, radio, television, and digital media. Sylla’s achievement marks a major recognition of her contributions to national journalism.
