Mahama Announces Women’s Development Bank

John Dramani Mahama says the government is almost ready to launch a Women’s Development Bank. He made the announcement during Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration in Accra. The project is being led by Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

The bank will support women entrepreneurs across Ghana. It will offer affordable loans, mentorship, and business support. The aim is to help women-led businesses grow and succeed. Mahama said women are the backbone of Ghana’s informal economy. He added that when women succeed, families and the nation prosper. He also mentioned the African Continental Free Trade Area in Accra. He said it will help create a large market for African goods and services.
