Togo plans to spend 5.8 billion CFA francs on fertilizers for the cotton sector in 2026. The support will help supply about 21,000 tonnes of fertilizer to farmers nationwide. The Plateaux Region will receive the largest share with 7,600 tonnes. Kara Region and Savanes Region will get 6,500 tonnes and 5,000 tonnes respectively. Smaller allocations will go to Maritime Region and Central Region. The planned supply is about 15% higher than the 18,191 tonnes distributed in 2025.
The initiative aims to help reach a production target of 92,500 tonnes of seed cotton. Despite recent improvements, output remains below levels seen before Olam Group took control in 2020.
