Business creation in Togo increased by 2.2% in the first quarter of 2026. According to the Business Formalities Center (CFE), 4,357 new companies were registered between January and March. This marks a slight recovery compared to the same period in 2025. Most new registrations were driven by Togolese nationals, accounting for nearly 80%. Foreign investors contributed around 900 new businesses during the period.
Women-owned enterprises represented about 29% of total new creations. The growth follows earlier declines recorded in 2024 and 2025. Authorities say reforms and digitalisation efforts are helping improve the business environment.
