The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has called for urgent measures to restore confidence in the country’s fiscal system. At its first 2026 meeting in Abuja, chaired by Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, members received a briefing on economic developments from Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele.
The forum reviewed FAAC revenues, tax reforms, and strategies to boost revenue across government tiers. Governors also discussed state police frameworks, a 12-year education plan, and approved an academy to strengthen subnational governance capacity.
