Demand Surge Overloads Transformers

Fuel prices in Ghana will change from May 1, 2026, with mixed trends across products. Petrol prices are expected to drop slightly, possibly selling around GH¢14.51 per litre. Diesel will see a bigger reduction, falling by about 6.77% to near GH¢15.87 per litre. However, LPG prices are projected to rise sharply by over 10% per kilogramme. The drop in petrol and diesel is due to falling global oil prices and government support measures.

Crude oil prices declined significantly during the pricing period, easing pressure on fuel costs. Despite this, the Ghana cedi weakened slightly, limiting the full benefit of the price drops. The National Petroleum Authority has set minimum price levels that fuel companies must follow.
