The comments sparked backlash, leading to apologies from both the CEO and Julius Debrah. Rev. Fayose said forgiveness is important but not enough in this case.
He called on the government to clearly distance itself from the conduct. He also suggested a strong reprimand to send a clear message to public officials. He added that both church and state must hold individuals accountable while avoiding generalisations.
