President Alassane Ouattara met Kenya’s President William Ruto in Nairobi during the Africa Forward Summit. He thanked Ruto for inviting him and praised the summit for promoting African cooperation. Ouattara called for stronger regional partnerships to boost trade and economic growth across Africa. He also welcomed the opening of a Kenyan embassy in Abidjan and announced plans for Côte d’Ivoire to open one in Kenya. Both leaders discussed peace, security, and stability as key priorities for the continent.
President Ruto said Africa must improve how it raises and manages its own development funds. He also highlighted the need for stronger long-term financing systems and reforms in global finance. Ouattara later held talks with leaders from Botswana, Gabon, and Liberia on strengthening cooperation and shared development goals.
