Farmers across Ghana are urging the government to release funds for the fertiliser subsidy programme. Many say they have been unable to access subsidised fertiliser since 2025, forcing them to reduce cultivation or pay high market prices.
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture blamed the delay on the non-release of funds by the Finance Ministry. Farmers warn that continued shortages could threaten food production and worsen economic hardship in rural communities.
