Ivory Traffickers Arrested In Ogun

A joint operation involving NESREA, the Nigeria Customs Service, and the Wildlife Justice Commission has intercepted 22 elephant tusks weighing 130.84 kilogrammes in Ogun State. Four suspected members of a wildlife trafficking syndicate were arrested during coordinated raids in Ogun and Lagos.

Officials said the seized ivory is valued at about N126.39 million on the international black market. Authorities have launched further investigations to dismantle the network and urged the public to report suspicious wildlife trafficking activities.
