African Cities Seek Better Development Funding

Officials and local leaders gathered in Abidjan for the Conclave of African Local Authorities to discuss urban development. The meeting brought together city leaders from across Africa to share ideas and experiences. Amadou Koné urged stronger financial support for African cities. He said many municipalities struggle to access funds for development projects.

Participants discussed ways to improve infrastructure, housing, and public services. They also called for better partnerships between governments and international institutions. Leaders believe stronger local governments can accelerate economic growth. The conclave ended with a renewed call for easier financing for African cities.
