Ivory Coast’s Coffee-Cocoa Council has dismissed reports that cocoa bean sales were blocked at key ports. Media reports claimed trucks loaded with beans waiting at Abidjan and San Pedro were causing a disruption in the supply chain.
The regulator said those trucks lacked required export documentation and were not operating legally. The council reaffirmed that at least 80% of the current cocoa crop has already been sold at guaranteed prices. Officials urged exporters to ensure all paperwork is correct before transporting beans to ports. Côte d’Ivoire produces roughly 40% of the world’s cocoa, making the sector vital to its economy.
The clarification aims to prevent misinformation affecting global bean markets. Traders and farmers are watching developments as the main crop season continues.
