EBRD Backs Agricultural Growth

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has announced new support for agriculture in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. The initiative aims to boost food production and strengthen value chains.

Funding will focus on sustainable farming and climate resilience. Officials say the programme will improve access to finance for agribusinesses. The project also seeks to modernise processing and storage facilities. Stakeholders expect the investment to create jobs and increase exports.

The move is part of broader efforts to enhance food security in West Africa. Authorities say the partnership will support long-term agricultural transformation in both countries.
