Indian Firm Builds Egypt Denim Factory

Indian textile manufacturer Prestige Denim Mills will invest $20 million in a new production facility in Egypt’s West Qantara Industrial Zone. The project is expected to create about 1,000 jobs and produce up to 20 million metres of denim annually.

Around 70 percent of the factory’s output will be exported to international markets. Egyptian officials say the investment strengthens the country’s position as a major manufacturing and textile centre.
