The West African Development Bank (BOAD) will hold the second edition of its Development Days in Lomé on June 11–12, 2026. The event will gather public officials, investors, and technical partners to discuss financing for sustainable housing in the WAEMU region.
The theme, “inclusive housing and energy sovereignty,” will address challenges from rapid urbanization and the regional energy transition. Discussions will focus on innovative financing, green finance, and public-private partnerships, including the role of fintechs in broadening access to funds. BOAD sees housing as a cross-cutting sector linked to regional integration, job creation, and climate resilience. This edition follows the 2025 event, which focused on energy transition and sustainable agriculture.
The first BOAD Development Days highlighted investment needs across several sectors in the region. As a joint institution of the eight WAEMU states, BOAD finances projects in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and the private sector from its base in Lomé.
