Lomé to Host Finance Inclusion Forum

Lomé will host the first BankAssur Forum & Awards on October 26–27. The pan-African event will focus on promoting financial inclusion across the continent. It is being organised by the Financial Markets Forum in Africa. Public officials, banks, insurers, and investors are expected to attend. According to Bertrand Eba, closer collaboration between banking and insurance is now essential.

Togo was selected due to its strong financial inclusion rate and widespread mobile money use. However, challenges such as limited SME credit access and gaps in banking coverage remain. The forum will explore solutions in digital finance, regulation, and innovation, with awards for top initiatives.
