Ghana’s petroleum receipts fell to about $769 million in 2025. This was a sharp drop from about $1.35 billion recorded in 2024. The figures come from the Bank of Ghana and the Ministry of Finance. The decline was mainly due to lower crude oil prices in 2025. Reduced production from mature oil fields also affected revenues.
Corporate income tax formed a large part of the 2025 receipts. Despite the fall, petroleum revenue still supports key national funds. Government says stronger investment and diversification are now needed.
