Togo Inflation Stabilizes at 0.2% in January 2026

In Togo, consumer prices stabilized in January 2026 after a slowdown throughout 2025. Inflation fell from 2.9% in January 2025 to 0.4% in December 2025, reaching 0.2% in January 2026.

This trend shows a gradual moderation of the general price level. The rate has remained below the UEMOA threshold of 3% since December 2024. The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HCI) stood at 102.8 in January 2026, almost unchanged from January 2025. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices fell by 4.3%, while housing, energy, and other services rose.

Monthly price increases of 0.6% were mainly due to fresh produce, particularly fruits and vegetables. Overall, Togo maintained annual price stability despite small quarterly increases in food and energy.
