Stakeholders in Lomé met to improve collaboration in the shea industry. The workshop was led by Coordination Togolaise des Organisations Paysannes et de Producteurs Agricoles. It aimed to better organise producers, processors, and exporters. The goal is to boost the competitiveness of Togolese shea butter globally. The sector supports many rural women but faces financing and processing challenges.
Participants called for improved skills, better quality products, and stronger partnerships. The meeting follows an earlier session held in Kara last March. Togo remains a top global producer, ranking seventh in shea butter production.
