Togolese SME Chom Factory, founded by Kossiwa Midjresso-Amouzou, has opened a new production site in Dakar, Senegal. The company, known for processing cereals, tubers, and fruits into healthy biscuits and snacks, aims to expand regionally.
Midjresso-Amouzou said Senegal was chosen for its stable economy and strong demand for local products. The Dakar facility cost about 25 million FCFA, funded by equity, local partners, and the diaspora. The project received technical support from UNDP Togo to promote women’s entrepreneurship under the AfCFTA. Chom Factory is using Senegalese ingredients like millet, bissap, and baobab to match local tastes.
It targets a monthly production of five tons and plans to reach 500 sales points by the end of 2026. Future expansion is expected in Benin, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire.
