Zenith Bank Expands into Côte d’Ivoire

Zenith Bank has announced the launch of its Ivorian subsidiary on April 29, 2026. The move marks a key step in its expansion into francophone West Africa. The new entity, Zenith Bank Côte d’Ivoire, received approval in December 2025. It will be headquartered in Le Plateau under regional banking regulation. Group CEO Adaora Umeoji described the launch as a strategic gateway to francophone markets.

The bank will focus on corporate banking, trade finance, and structured financial solutions. It will be led by Cédric Tano, who brings over 20 years of experience. The expansion is part of a broader plan to grow across Africa, including a future presence in Central Africa.
