President John Dramani Mahama will lead the first Davos meeting of the Accra Reset on January 22. The event will take place alongside the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
African and Global South leaders will discuss new ways to strengthen global cooperation. President Mahama chairs the Accra Reset, a Global South–led initiative on sovereign capacity. Leaders from Egypt, Kenya, DR Congo, Nigeria, and Papua New Guinea are expected to attend. Former heads of state will also participate as members of the Guardians Circle.
The meeting will launch priority programmes endorsed by the UN and G20 in 2025. The initiative aims to help Global South countries respond better to global economic and social challenges.
