The Abidjan–Lagos Corridor Project has entered a new operational phase with the launch of its governing board. The major regional highway initiative will connect five West African countries, including Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire and Lagos in Nigeria.
The project is being coordinated under the framework of ECOWAS to strengthen regional integration. Officials say the corridor will improve trade, transportation, and cross-border movement. The road network is expected to ease congestion and reduce travel time along the busy coastal route. Economic experts believe it will significantly boost commerce between participating countries.
The project is also supported by major financial and development institutions. Authorities describe it as a transformative step for infrastructure and economic growth in West Africa.
