Six students of Aggrey Memorial Senior High School have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a final-year student of Adisadel College during an inter-colleges sports festival in Cape Coast. The victim, Master Rexford Owusu-Ansah, was reportedly attacked at Pedu Junction on February 20 while returning from the Cape Coast Stadium.
Police said the group confronted him and his two friends and asked if they attended Adisadel before allegedly launching the assault. While his friends managed to escape, the victim was overpowered, beaten, and knocked to the ground. He sustained a fractured bone around his right eye and was later treated at the Cape Coast Regional Hospital. The attackers allegedly took his iPhone 17 Pro Max, GH¢1,400 in cash, and his shoes.
The suspects, all minors, were handed over to the Kotokuraba Police Station by school authorities. The Central Regional Police Command has condemned the incident and assured the public that the suspects will face the law.
