Mahama Holds Talks with Korean President

President John Dramani Mahama held bilateral talks with South Korea’s President Lee Jae‑myung in Seoul. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, agriculture, climate action, and maritime security. Mahama is on a five-day working visit to South Korea that began on March 10. He praised the strong democratic values shared by Ghana and Korea. The President highlighted projects with the Korea International Cooperation Agency to increase rice production in Ghana.

He also promoted opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area, which has its secretariat in Accra. Mahama said Ghana wants to process cocoa and minerals locally instead of exporting raw materials. President Lee described Ghana as an important gateway for Korean trade and investment in Africa.
