Government Halts Sachet Water Price Hike

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has stepped in to stop a planned increase in sachet water prices. The adjustment, which was set to begin on April 6, has been put on hold. This decision came after discussions with key industry groups. The Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association and NASPAWAP agreed to suspend the hike. The Ministry praised their cooperation in protecting consumers.

It assured the public that sachet water will continue to sell at current prices. The move is intended to ease the financial burden on households. A meeting has been scheduled for April 8 to address industry challenges and find lasting solutions.
