Nigeria Deploys Troops For Turkey Training

Defence Minister Christopher Musa says Nigeria and Turkey have agreed to deploy 200 Nigerian Special Forces personnel to Turkey for immediate military training. The announcement followed bilateral talks held on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum with Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler.

Musa noted that the partnership also covers joint defence production, technology transfer, and officer exchange programmes. He added that Turkey’s decades of counterterrorism experience offers Nigeria a strategic opportunity to strengthen its defence capacity, with joint military exercises planned later in the year.
