Togo is set to build six technology innovation centers across key prefectures. The project falls under the Digital Acceleration Project (PANT) to boost innovation nationwide. The centers will be located in Tône, Kozah, Tchaoudjo, Ogou, Kloto, and Zio. Authorities have opened applications to select a firm to oversee studies and construction. These hubs, called “Pods,” will support startups, training, and project incubation.
They aim to expand opportunities beyond the capital and empower local communities. The initiative builds on the UniPod at the University of Lomé, developed with the United Nations Development Programme. Funding support comes from the World Bank through its IDA program.
