Workers Call for Better Pay

Labour leaders in Ghana are asking President John Dramani Mahama to improve salaries and create more jobs. TUC Secretary-General Joshua Ansah said many workers are still struggling financially. He made the appeal during the 2026 May Day celebration in Koforidua. Ansah also called for stronger protection for informal workers. At the event, Mahama announced that the Akosombo Dam was fully working again.

He praised engineers from VRA and GRIDCo for repairing damaged systems. The President said electricity supply had now stabilized nationwide. Workers welcomed the news and called for more development projects.
