Confederation of African Football (CAF) says it will announce a decision on the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations within the next 48 hours. The announcement follows growing discussions about whether the tournament will go ahead as planned.
Reports last week suggested that CAF might postpone the competition. The tournament is also important because it will serve as qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. CAF’s Head of TV and Commercial, Luxolo September, confirmed that an official statement is coming soon. He said the matter has been under discussion for several weeks.
According to him, the issue is receiving urgent and high-level attention from CAF officials. The competition is currently scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
